We wrestle not against flesh and blood.
Those are not just poetic words from the Apostle Paul — they are a warning and a revelation.
The real battles of this life are not fought with bullets, politics, or courtrooms.
They are fought in the invisible realm.
The Bible is clear:
“We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians 6:12
And because our enemies are spiritual, our weapons must be spiritual.
Paul tells us again:
“The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” – 2 Corinthians 10:4
The Forgotten Power
Somewhere along the way, many believers traded spiritual power for religious performance.
We memorized creeds but forgot how to cast out darkness.
We learned church traditions but neglected the gifts of the Spirit.
Yet the Bible says God gives His people power:
- Power to heal the sick.
- Power to discern spirits.
- Power to speak mysteries in tongues.
- Power to declare God’s will and watch it come to pass.
Romans 8:26 explains why tongues matter:
“The Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
There are things too deep, too heavy, too dangerous for human words — and that’s when the Spirit Himself steps in.
Africa’s Spiritual Roots
Long before European missionaries arrived, Africa already understood the spirit world.
We knew there is a Creator.
We knew that life is more than flesh.
We understood the invisible laws that govern reality.
Our ancestors spoke with authority in the spirit.
They knew how to bless, how to break curses, how to protect their people.
This was not witchcraft — it was stewardship of spiritual gifts.
But when colonial religion came, it labeled all African spiritual practice as evil.
It replaced the empowerment of the Spirit with fear and dependency on church systems.
The goal was control, not liberation.
The Call to Reclaim
The same Bible they brought to Africa declares that we have spiritual gifts.
That we are to pray in the Spirit.
That we are to lay hands on the sick.
That we are to bind and loose in the name of Jesus.
These are not symbolic gestures. They are real weapons.
And Africa — with its deep spiritual heritage — has a calling to wield them again.
This is the Truth
Religion may tell you that such power is “dangerous” or “outdated.”
But the truth is: a powerless Christian is no threat to the kingdom of darkness.
The Spirit is still moving. The gifts are still for today.
The authority of God’s people is still in effect.
It’s time to stop apologizing for the power of the Holy Spirit.
It’s time to stop fearing what God has given.
It’s time to pull down strongholds, break the chains, and walk in the authority we were born to carry.
“Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you.” – Luke 10:19
Africa, the Spirit is calling you.
Not back to dead religion —
But forward into the living, burning, unstoppable power of God.
